“Chicken Coop Celebration” Journal Collage Page – Illustration Friday, Creative Tuesdays, Inspiration Avenue, and Ice Cream Inspirations!

If you notice, I have begun compiling various Art Community gatherings of blog hops, link lists and other such inspirational meetings of creative people. I made a list of the topics that caught my eye this week and decided to challenge myself. Use as many topics as possible in one painting within 1.5 hours. Admittedly it ended up being 2 hours with clean-up and photography, etc… But without further ado:
“The chickens were celebrating their shiny new chicken coop in the bright rays of the morning sun. One of the ways they celebrated was with confetti (kernels and popcorn).”
I am quite proud of this piece given my self-imposed restraints. I also decided to play around with paper-cutting/collage which is not something I normally do. In fact, aside from the clouds and the popcorn and the shadows, everything is paper that you see. So much fun. My desk is an utter mess! I have so many projects going on right now. It’s lovely. Paintings. Marketing projects. Journaling. Packaging. Mess. Mess. Mess.
Oh and I’m linking up to Illustration Friday “Shiny” , Creative Tuesdays “Celebrations”, Inspiration Avenue “Chickens”, and Ice Cream Inspirations “Rainbow Sherbet”.
I hope you too are having a lovely, messy, creative day!

Really great! Nice colors and the paper technique you used looks really cool. Very cute chickens, too!
Playing with paper and glue was a blast.
This is hilarious..those chickens really know how to celebrate…love the collage and using so many mediums. Combining your memes is rather creative isn’t it??
Thanks, I thought it was fun.
haha…I love the idea of popcorn confetti!
Very cute celebration you have going there!
The popcorn was the first thing I thought of for some reason. I was probably hungry.

Totally fun chickens in mixed media! I love the popcorn surprise … enjoyed it immensely. Nice work.
Fondly,
Ells
This is so clever. You know its good when you make a big ‘ole mess, but the chickens and the popcorn confetti is just so much fun!! Finding you from Creative Tuesday’s.

I often look a blog partys and worry about commiting to too many and end up failing them all. I love your idea of combining as many as possible in one thing lol x x x
I think blog parties are great for community. I was thinking about creating my own, but there are so many out there. And then its a REAL commitment. lol
